Ryuu ga Gotoku OF THE END trailer
Dear Sega and Nagoshi-san, what kind of good crack did you have when you guys came up with the idea for this game? I mean this is just awesome! It’s like someone was sitting around inside SEGA’s lounge, smoking something good then suddenly “Hey, what if we put some zombies, monsters, and mechs into our Yakuza game?”. And for some reason, someone else was equally high that day and therefore this crazy idea was immediately green-lighted. The only thing that’d make this perfect is if they had called it Ryu ga Gotoku OF THE DEAD.
For those who are not aware, Ryuu ga Gotoku/Ryu ga Gotoku is a long-running game created by SEGA’s Toshishiro Nagoshi. The game is called Yakuza outside Japan and as the name implied, the story depicts the conflict between the different Yakuza clans in Kamurocho district (inspired by Tokyo’s real redlight district, Kabukicho). From time to time, however, Nagoshi often creates spin-off that diverges from the Yakuza theme. Ryu ga Gotoku: Kenzan! took the series into feudal Japan and with Ryu ga Gotoku OF THE END, he takes the series into a zombie-infested city.
